Introducing the topic and agenda of the retro helps participants in having a reason to participate, and shows we respect their time.
Duration: 3-5 minutes
Steps
- Welcome everyone to the session and location
- Display the agenda (on a long-running slide?)
- Point out the various parts of the agenda
- Share the focus topic and how you arrived to it
- Share the flow of activities described on the agenda
- Ask for questions or comments
A nice way to show the agenda and follow it during the retro is to keep the slideshow of the agenda and the different steps of separate slides, and NOT use presenter mode. In this way, on the left/right of the slides software participants can see the next slide and how many slides we’re in.
