The goal of this activity is to gauge the satisfaction level of team members on the focus area of the retrospective. It’s a visual of the team in the current moment, and can be used for deeper discussion, analysis and tracking over time.

Duration: 5-10 minutes

Steps

  1. Introduce the activity by commenting that the team will create a baseline measure they can reexamine in the future to track progress
  2. Review the histogram definitions and distribute physical/digital blank notes. Ask each member to write a number from 1 to 5 to indicate their satisfaction level
  3. Keeping the response anonymous, collect the notes and ask a volounteer to mark the chart. Read the number on each card and. Wait for the marking
  4. Read the results of the chart. Ask for comments (you can comment yourself on the numbers, noting we will keep track of them)
